Dawn Service
The Dawn Service has become an integral part of ANZAC Day in Australia.
Each year on 25th April, vast numbers of Australians mark ANZAC Day by attending a dawn service. An evocative way to commemorate the sacrifices of those who have served their country, dawn services are held throughout Australia, as well as at some key commemorative sites overseas - such as Gallipoli, where the original ANZACS landed in 1915.
A typical dawn service includes a commemorative address, laying of wreaths, playing of the military bugle calls, and a one or two minute period of silence.
The Royal Australian Mint commemorates the dawn service with the release of this stunning 2026 'C' Colour-Printed Two Dollar Uncirculated Coin.
The coin features a striking representation of the dawn service with the sun rising over the ocean, which is colour printed.
