2015 HRH Princess Charlotte 1oz Silver Proof Coin

To celebrate the birth of Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, The Perth Mint is celebrating this special occasion with the release of a special 1oz silver proof coin.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born on 2 May 2015 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in London weighing 3.7 kilograms. She is the second child of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and a great granddaughter of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

In keeping with tradition, the birth of Princess Charlotte was greeted by a 41-gun Royal Salute in Hyde Park, and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London. A proclamation of the Royal Birth announcing her arrival was displayed on a gilded easel outside the gates of Buckingham Palace.

The reverse of each coin depicts a sculpted portrait of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge cradling and gazing lovingly at their newborn baby, with HRH Prince George by their side. The image is encircled by a sculpted ribbon tied in a bow. The inscription CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF THE ROYAL BABY.

Each coin is presented in a classic grey presentation case within an illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Both the shipper and Certificate will display the name of Her Royal Highness and her birth date.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 1oz silver proof coins.
