HM King Charles III Effigy

The 2024 Six Coin Proof year set captures a moment in history not witnessed in more than 70 years, as the annual release undergoes the transition to the new effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. 

Tradition holds that Australian coins bear an effigy of the reigning monarch on their obverse. since the introduction of decimal currency in 1966, Australia's coins have featured five different effigies of Queen Elizabeth II and the reigning Monarch. With the change of Monarch, Australia's coins will feature the effigy of  King Charles III.
