This wonderfully crafted Tasmanian Devil coin is the fifth release in the Australian Opal series, showcasing nocturnal Aussie animals created in pure opal.
The Tasmanian Devil is a highly distinctive marsupial found only on the island of Tasmania. This characterful creature is recognised by its squat build, black colouring, loud screeches and reputedly bad temper. Although only the size of a small dog, it can sound and look incredibly fierce.
Now listed as endangered, this unique creature is nocturnal by nature.
The coin’s reverse incorporates an inner panel design of a Tasmanian Devil detailed in pure Australian opal. The outer panel of the coin depicts native soft tree ferns and wattle leaves, a full moon and the Southern Cross – a renowned star group which is only visible in the Southern hemisphere.
The coin is presented in a prestigious display case with a light, which turns on as you open the lid, to represent the moon shining down on the nocturnal creature. The 1oz release is accompanied by a stunning illustrated shipper and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
