Description

Also known as ‘Mountain Blue’, the Ulysses Butterfly (Papilio ulysses) is a large swallowtail butterfly with
amazing, iridescent electric-blue wings. This eyecatching animal is one of the first coins in the Royal
Australian Mint’s Bright Bugs six coin collection.

In what promises to be a series to get people talking, the Royal Australian Mint will feature some of the
prettiest bugs from across the country. These are not the normal, dirty critters one finds under their fridge – but rather examples of how nature adorns some lucky critters with mesmerising colours
and unbelievable patterns.

The coins feature traditional coin sculpture as well as colour printing, and are presented in a coin-in-card format.
