Sir Henry Morgan (Ca. 1635 -1688) was amongst the most successful and most pitiless pirates who ever sailed the Spanish Main. Morgan was infamous for his habit of torturing hapless captives to obtain tactical information. The coin’s reverse depicts Henry Morgan against the backdrop of a pirate ship.
