Description

With the Rugby rebellion, the game of Rugby League in Australia was born in 1908.

Rugby League as a game has gone through many challenges in its history, but it has always remained our favourite winter sport. Rugby League has always been a favorite in NSW and Queensland states of Australia, but with its popularity, it has truly grown into a national competition, it is no longer a game played only in NSW and Queensland with the game being played across the country, the National Rugby League (NRL) promoting the great game to the heights it has become.

The Dollar coin released by the Royal Australian Mint features the Centenary of Rugby League Logo against a backdrop of lines that represents the forward outlook of the sport and the intent to "inspire the future" of the game.

With so many young people playing Rugby League, the game will truly be one of Australia's favourite sports for many years to come.
