Silver Proof Coin

In 2002, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrated the Golden Jubilee of her accession to the throne. To commemorate this the Perth Mint has released a 1oz silver proof coin. The Mintage on the silver 1oz coin is 40,000 worldwide. The 1oz Silver coin shows the Queen on horseback at trooping the colour, an annual ceremony to mark her official Birthday. A coloured image of the union jack is shown in the background. The outer design displays a ring of foot guards, who are most seen on duty at Buckingham Palace.

2002 Australian Kookaburra
1/2oz Silver Proof Coin

This year sees the introduction of a 1/2 ounce Square Kookaburra proof like coin - Australia's first legal tender square coin. Adding to this coin's unusual appeal is the stunning use of lenticular packaging.
The 1/2oz Square Kookaburra is available individually in the new lenticular packaging. The 1/2oz Square Kookaburra has a mintage of no more than 75,000.
The 1/2oz Square Kookaburra carries the new 2002 series reverse design depicting a Kookaburra perched on a tree branch. The History of the Square Kookaburra goes back to 1919-21 when a number of coins were struck to replace the bulky bronze pennies and halfpennies, each with a kookaburra reverse, none was officially circulated.

2001 Silver Millennium Coin

The 1oz millennium coin is made from 99.9% fine Silver in a proof like quality. This proof like coin has a wonderful colour design which can be seen more closely by clicking on the picture. The backdrop of this coin is earth and the front design features the heavenly bodies of time. Cleopatras needle is depicted with Sirius the morning star rising above it and a pure gold insert above that which depicts the sun. The central design is surrounded by Egyptian symbols.

This coin features in the foreground a textured surface of the moon. The Earth above the Moon's horizon and showing the Australian continent, is a featured gold insert. The Sun, with rays illuminating the cresent of the Earth, creatures a sunburst effect at the top of the design which is a pad printed in colour.

Gregorian Millennium 2001 Bi-Metal Coin

This coin has been released by the Perth Mint to celebrate the true start to the new Millennium

With the theme of time-keeping, being kept consistant with the 2000 release, this Bi-metal gold and silver coin displays a face of a watch showing 08:00, which is the time in Perth when the New Millennium started at 00:00GMT. The earth is displayed three times on the coin which represents its rotation around the sun.

This coin is struck in 99.9% fine silver and 99.9% fine Gold with only 7,500 minted.

2000 Bi Metal Millennium Coin

The 2000 Bi Metal coin has the reverse design depicting a satellite view of the earth which is divided into two areas seperated by the international dateline. The area to the west is experiencing the first day of the millennium and is pad printed with the date 01/01/2000. The area to the east, which is still in the last day of the 20th century is pad printed in the deep blue ocean, with the date 31/12/99. Catalogue value A$750.00

2001 Centenary of Federation Bi-Metal Coin

The Celebration of Australia's Centenary of Federation in 2001 was a great year for all Australians.

It is when we celebrate the coming together of our Six States and the Northern Territory.

This spectacular bi-metal coin has been released by the Perth Mint in recognition of this great event.

The coin is presented in a jarrah and sheoak presentation case and issued with a serial Numbered Certificate of Authenticity with a limited mintage of 7,500.

Silver Holey Dollar and Dump

These unusually shaped coins feature the official badges of the Six States and Northern Territory on the reverse side of the Holey Dollar along with a detailed illustration of Parliament House Canberra on the seven pointed star shaped Dump coin.

Both coins are struck in 99.9% fine silver in proof like quality and are presented in an Australian flag shaped box with a serial numbered certificate of authenticity.
