Having resisted a Russian attempt to capture the town, the British Light brigade was ordered to distrupt their withdrawal. The coins design depicts a Spartan warrior wearing a metal cuirass (Breastplate), with a doru (Spear), a protective Corinthian Helmet, and a xiphos (sword).
