The Royal Australian Mint has released this stunning set of six gold proof coins, including all denominations of current Australian coins. This set represents a glimmering snapshot of our modern coinage, with current circulating designs captured in 3.65 troy oz. of 99.99% pure gold. This spectular coin set is housed in finely crafted wooden cases, with an engraved plaque indicating the mintage number.
The obverse of each coin reveals the set’s most special feature – a unique effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Royal Australian Mint sculptor Vladimir Gottwald. First appearing on a commemorative 50c coin to mark the Royal Visit in 2000, this contemporary portrait has not appeared on any coin since. Special permission has been granted by Buckingham Palace to reinstate this Australian-designed effigy for this very special set. The 2010 Australian Numismatic Centenary Gold Proof Set is strictly limited to a mintage of 500 set being released.
