The Canberra ANDA Coin, Note and Stamp Fair recently saw the release of the special 2006 Mint set with the ANDA Logo printed on the Outer Sleeve. There was very long queues during the first day of the show with everyone wanting to get hold of these very limited sets. The Perth Mint has released the Fifth and final coin of the five Gold Plated coins featuring designs inspired by the historic figures represented on Australia's original decimal currency notes. Each 2006-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality and is finished in 99.9% gold plating. The coins have a very limited mintage of only 1,000.
The coloured reverse of each coin depicts historic figures as they were depicted on decimal currency notes issued between 1966 and 1974. The third coin released features Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, 1897–1935, record-breaking aviator, who appeared on the front of the first $20 note; and Lawrence Hargrave, 1850–1915, astronomer and aeronautical pioneer, who appeared on the back of the first $20 note.

Each 2006-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality and is finished in 99.9% gold plating. The coins have a very limited mintage of only 1,000.
The coloured reverse of each coin depicts historic figures as they were depicted on decimal currency notes issued between 1966 and 1974. The third coin released features Francis Greenway, 1777–1837, convict architect, who appeared on the front of the first $10 note; and Henry Lawson, 1867–1922, one of Australia's best known writers, who appeared on the back of the first $10 note.

The third coin released features SirJoseph Banks, 1743–1820, famous English botanist, who appeared on the front of the first $5 note; and Caroline Chisholm, 1808–1877, 'the emigrant's friend', who appeared on the back of the first $5 note.

Each 2006-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality and is finished in 99.9% gold plating. The coins have a very limited mintage of only 1,000.
The coloured reverse of each coin depicts historic figures as they were depicted on decimal currency notes issued between 1966 and 1974. The second coin released features John Macarthur, who contributed to the development of the wool industry and William Farrer, who played a major role in developing disease resistant wheat. Australia's first $2 note featured the image of Macarthur on the front and the image of Farrer on the back.

The 2006 Silver Proof Dollar ANDA mintmark coin celebrating 50 years of Australian Television were released at the ANDA Coin, Note and Stamp Fair that are held around Australia. The limited release of this silver dollar makes it the lowest mintage of any silver dollar released. It is the first time the Royal Australian Mint has the mintmark 'A' stamped on the silver proof coin. This coin only sold at the Canberra and Brisbane ANDA coin shows, while the Sydney ID packaging was only sold at the Sydney ANDA coin show. The Royal Australian Mint did not sell this coin at the Melbourne ANDA Coin Show.
