The ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series 2017 1/2oz Silver Proof Three-Coin Set features a trio of commemorative coins, depicting symbolic images and themes that represent Australia’s involvement on the Western Front and in the Middle East.
Much of the fighting during the First World War took place on the Western Front, the name given to a series of opposing lines of trenches that stretched 750 kilometres from the Belgian coast through France, and all the way to the Swiss border. However, equally as important was the Middle East Campaign fought by the allies against the Turkish Empire, in particular, the Palestine Campaign of 1917 which took place in the towns of Gaza and Beersheba.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of The ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series 2017 1/2oz Silver Proof Three-Coin Set.
