Description
This year’s gilded edition from the Australian Lunar Series II depicts the monkey, the ninth of the twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese Lunar Calendar.
The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar monkey include 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004 and 2016. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be intelligent, quick-witted, optimistic, ambitious, and adventurous.
The reverse of the coin depicts an adult monkey and a baby monkey, gilded in 24-carat gold, sitting in a peach tree. The baby is holding a peach, which is symbolic of longevity and immortality.
The Year of the Monkey Gilded Edition coin is housed in a presentation case and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
