The ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series 2015 1/2oz Silver Proof Three-Coin Set features a trio of commemorative coins which depict symbolic images and themes from the First World War representing Australia and New Zealand’s involvement in the Gallipoli campaign of 1915.
The ANZAC Spirit 1/2oz Silver Proof Three-Coin Set comprises a trio of 1/2oz coins each struck by The Perth Mint.
The three-coin set is part of The ANZAC Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin Series which will run over five years from 2014 to 2018. A new three-coin set will be released each year during this period each contributing to a five-year collection.
No more than 5,000 of The ANZAC Spirit 2015 1/2oz Silver Proof Three-Coin Set will be released.
Bravest of the Brave – The coin’s reverse depicts the Anzacs as they battled to scale the cliffs above Anzac Cove. The design includes one soldier in colour in the foreground, a red poppy,
Billies for the Troops – The coin’s reverse depicts a symbolic image of a woman in colour giving a billy tin to an Australian First World War soldier. The image on the tin is the Alexandra Club Christmas billy tin design which features a kangaroo on the Gallipoli peninsula.
Spirit of the Fallen – The coin’s reverse depicts a symbolic image of the Lone Pine tree as it was in 1915 on the left of the design, with soldiers walking through trenches filled with their fallen comrades. On the right of the design is the Lone Pine Memorial to the Missing in colour, as it appears today, with the spirits of fallen soldiers
Edged lettering features around the coin’s rim with the words, “PRIDE • RESPECT • GRATITUDE •”.
This three-coin set is presented in a round tray which fits inside a beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a booklet style numbered Certificate of Authenticity containing information and imagery from the First World War.
